Coming up tomorrow we have Cornish trio 3 Daft Monkeys who combine rousing vocals, frenetic fiddling, rhythmical 12-string guitar, dancing bass and foot drum to create a sound that is far too diverse to be pigeonholed into one genre, creating a stunning blend of upbeat, danceable music which despite all its world influences remains undeniably British.
Saturday also sees the original rude boy Neville Staple from the Specials play in Bishops Stortford and then onto London on Sunday, make sure you catch one of these shows, you’ll get a mix of old favourites from The Specials/Fun Boy Three back catalogue plus a choice solo releases.
Next week sees Bristol embraced by LAU who will undoubtedly give a compelling performance both because of rousing virtuoso instrumental work and the sheer originality of their approach. Playing in Exeter, Salisbury and Bristol is Martin Simpson (Solo) one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world, his interpretations of traditional songs are masterpieces of storytelling.
