SKINDRED
Genre: Regga-Metal
Web: www.skindred.com
Myspace: myspace.com/skindred
Press Release: Having toured America solidly for the last 18 months, in which they managed to shift 600,000 copies of their debut album ‘Babylon’. Skindred will be stopping off on part of their 22 date UK tour to preview songs from their new album which is due for release in March next year.
Skindred are quite simply unlike anything you’ve heard. Elements of Metal, Dancehall, Punk, and Drum & Bass, are all cut and pasted and put back together again to create their own unique sound. This has led to opportunities to share the stage with bands such as Korn, The Misfits, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Soulfly (to name but a few), helping the band to build a rapidly growing international fanbase.
They took the Download festival by storm this year playing to a packed out crowd, with rock bible Kerrang magazine saying ‘But all past bands are blown away by SKINDRED with a crowd that stretches far further than the boundaries of the tent, there’re awesome tonight, their infectious dub-metal – helmed by incredible frontman Benji Webbe, who has every soul in the palm of his hand – whipping up the prefect party vibe that quickens your heartbeat and stretches the most unstoppable grin across your face’. KERRANG FIVE (KKKKK) REVIEW OF THERE 2006 DOWNLOAD SET
This has led to the band being reknowned as one of the UK best live bands, and things are all in place to propel them as one of the major players within the UK rock/metal scene by the end of the year.

GLEN TILBROOK
Genre: Pop / New Wave / Indie
Web: www.glenntilbrook.com
Myspace: myspace.com/glenntilbrook
New DVD: “One For The Road”
Latest Album: “Transatlantic Ping Pong” Quixotic 2004
Press Release: When it comes to writing perfect three-and-a-half minute pop song, Tilbrook is a certified patent holder and member of that elite group that includes such tunesmiths as Lennon & McCartney, Ray Davies and Elvis Costello. As one half of the songwriting behind the beloved band Squeeze and now a successful solo artist, Tilbrook has perfected the art of pop song writing. From chestnuts like Up the Junction and Pulling Mussels (From the Shell) through stunning new tracks Untouchable and Ray and Me, he has amassed a veritable Sears Catalog of memorable songs.
After the release of his solo debut, 2001's The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook, he hit the road, making his bid to become the new hardest working man in show business. "The thing I love most about playing solo is finding I could talk to an audience rather than just saying 'This is' and 'That was' and Thank you very much,' which was probably about the extent of my communication before then," Tilbrook says.
During spare moments, Tilbrook began to lay the groundwork for solo album number two, and as the title suggests, "Transatlantic Ping Pong", it came together on both sides of the pond. The recording was done in short bursts, he says. "The Nashville stuff was done in August, and the rest of the stuff I did in England in February. And then I took it back to my studio, and worked on it in Austin and New Orleans. I worked on it all over the place. I worked on it in my RV, in a field, in the middle of nowhere!"
Tilbrook comments, "Live, I don't feel that I have to play the old songs; I want to play them. I want to dip into all parts of my career because I'm proud of it." Transatlantic Ping Pong is the latest chapter in a rich history that spans Squeeze's explosion out of the late 70's new wave movement to their continued presence on FM radio with staples such as Another Nail In My Heart, Tempted, Black Coffee in Bed and Hourglass.
The Sun
“Here’s a breath of fresh air. Rather than slapping together a few old videos and live performances for his music DVD, the Squeeze man has allowed those prying cameras into every aspect of his touring life.”
Classic Rock
“Forget Fear & Loathing and Easy Rider. This is inspired by what was perhaps possible the first British Road Movie, 1963’s Summer Holiday starring Cliff Richard and a double decker bus.”
Record Collector
“Tilbrook carries it off with boyish charm and the 18 songs can’t be faulted.”

Web: www.twistandcrawl.com

Myspace: myspace.com/thenewenglishbeat
Press Release: One tempestuous weekend in March 1979 was not only the date of the Three Mile Island nuclear incident, but also, in Birmingham, England, the very first show by nascent ska band The Beat. Introduced as "The hottest thing since the Pennsylvania meltdown", the next few years proved to be just as explosive explosive!
The band cross over fluidly between soul, reggae, pop and punk, to created an infectious dance rhythm. Along with their Two Tone contemporaries The Specials, The Selecter, and Madness, The Beat became an overnight sensation and one of the most popular and influential bands of the British Ska movement
The Beat scored hits with tunes that have now become so popular that it's hard to remember a time when they didn't exist, such as "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Save it for Later", "I Confess", "Stand Down Margaret", and their serene cover of Andy William's "Can't Get Used To Losing You".
The six-member band initially consisted of Ranking Roger on vocals and toasting, first wave ska legend Saxa on saxophone, Dave Wakeling on vocals and guitar, Andy Cox on guitar, David Steele on bass, Everett Morton on drums,
For five years The Beat toured relentlessly and released three studio albums: "I Just Can't Stop It", "Wh'appen", and "Special Beat Service". They toured the world with artists such as David Bowie, The Police, REM, The Clash, The Talking Heads, The Pretenders, and The Specials, to name but a few.
Finally in 2001, Ranking Roger, Everett, Saxa and Neil Deathridge got together again along with Tony O’Donnell, Andy Pearson, Dave "Blockhead" Wright on keyboards and Roger’s son Murphy for the new The Beat lineup.

GRETCHEN PETERS
(Curb Records Ltd)
Web:
www.gretchenpeters.com
Myspace: myspace.com/gretchenpeters

Press Release:
Gretchen Peters’ intelligent and introspective songs mark her out as one of Nashville’s best contemporary songwriters Her albums, The Secret of Life and Gretchen Peters are already considered two of contemporary music’s top critical picks.
Gretchen’s music is for those who prefer lyrics that have the strength to generate an emotional response. Her songs do carry an extra punch, casually cutting through the human veneer and clawing at the overlooked realities skimming the surface.
The record marketing machines driving the music industry today owe a lot to Gretchen Peters. She has sold millions of records over the past decade, covered by stars such as Faith Hill, Bonnie Raitt, Martina McBride, Etta James, The Neville Brothers, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Bryan Adams, Patty Loveless, Billy Ray Cyrus, Pam Tillis etc etc.
Peters has won Grammy nominations for the heart-wrenching Patty Loveless hit, “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am,” as well as Martina McBride’s award-winning recording of “Independence Day”. In 2003, she was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her work on the Dreamworks animated film, “Spirit- Stallion of the Cimarron”, and the movie’s hit single by Bryan Adams, “Here I Am’.
Gretchen’s latest releases include a studio CD is entitled, HALCYON and a live CD, TRIO.

Better known as a supplier of songs to more famous artists (not least Independence Day for Martina McBride), Peters can more than hold her own as a singer-songwriter.
THE GUARDIAN

In Peters' music every tale is brave, unique, beautiful.
TIME MAGAZINE

Stepping out of the shadows to produce an epic evening… Reminiscent of both Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, yet maintaining a jazzy edge that sets [her] apart from standard C&W… it didn't take long before the audience were entranced.
EDINBURGH REVIEW

Like Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams and the great Emmylou Harris, Gretchen Peters is a precocious talent. The tag for her work is alternative country but with a voice as haunting and controlled as this, she could sing anything put in front of her. Halcyon is jam-packed with gorgeous musical moments, particularly the beautiful Aviator's Song and If Heaven. For years Gretchen was the backroom girl for a number of more famous names, but with Halcyon she reveals the ability to go it alone any time she chooses.
BELFAST TELEGRAPH

Gretchen Peters knows how to knock a tune together - she's one of Nashville's most respected songwriters. [Latest Album] Halcyon should give Peters a following all her own. It's a masterly lesson in the art of effortless, fluid writing - with pared down arrangements and a lightness of touch that oozes confidence. A brave and beautiful collection.
MANCHESTER ONLINE

'Halcyon' is stark but beautifully arranged, with the songs often being in possession of a cinematic feel. Indeed, on 'Museum' she sings of being Van Gogh and struggling to capture a vision. One true artist singing of another.
HMV

Described as "Nashville's best-kept secret," Gretchen Peters has written for Bryan Adams and Shania Twain. She strikes out as a powerful singer in her own right on this, her second album, evoking the romantic spirit of fellow American songwriters, from Bruce Springsteen to Lucinda Williams.

BRING ME THE HORIZON
(Visible Noise)
Genre: Metal / Hardcore / Thrash
Web: www.bringmethehorizon.co.uk
Myspace: www.myspace.com/bmth
Press Release: A more exciting, dedicated and gorgeous band you will rarely come across…… Then they played shows……and kids moshed……and they kept playing shows……and kids kept moshing……
Bring Me the Horizon are five very young British lads with a penchant for the heavy., Their astonishingly good debut mini album set for re-release on Visible Noise on the 30th January, ‘This is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For’, is essentially an 18 minute, mid nineties breakdown; four tracks of intense raging chugging and squealing, stop/starting and severe ‘core riffing. Nary a second hand euro thrash riff to be found, nary a melodic sung chorus, all things about this genre that irritate are devoid (well save for ball splitingly tight pants and backwards hair-cuts).
The band have toured with The Red Chord and played with bands such as Aiden and Bleeding Through, only stoking the fire of demand and interest in this astounding group. BMTH’s followers are devout, intense and VAST. Already, the band have had over 400,000 plays on the worlds biggest hardcore download site (www.hxcmp3.com), not to mention being in the top 100 played UK acts on MySpace (them and Coldplay were the only UK acts in the top 100!!!). They even have their own tribute band!!!!

‘Britains most explosive new band’ Kerrang June 06
‘(BMTH) Have got ‘’NEXT BIG THING’ written all over their good looking faces. Go see them YESTERDAY!’ - Rock Sound 9/10
‘These lads have the musical chops of those double their age, and make good use of them’ - Big Cheese 5/5
‘It's all gut-splitting rage and enthusiastic guitar mangling from the word go. Fuggin' quality then, Buy it and bleed your ears dry’. – Drowned in Sound 4/5

Current Album: “We Are Not the Infadels”
New Single: “Girl That Speaks No Words” Released 25th Sep 2006
New DVD: “We Are Not the Infadels: Live” Released 9th October 2006

Press Release:
Critically acclaimed Infadels come back to the South west during their Autumn Headlining tour playing at the Exeter Phoenix Centre. The 21st October will see the East London Electro Lads bellow out their catchy tunes off their album, like energised tunes such as “Cant Get Enough” and “Love Like Semtex” both were singles pumped full of adrenaline earlier this year, while “Give Yourself To Me” was used in 3 Mobiles advertisements.
Infadels have spent over 2 years building up an unshakable reputation as one of the most hard working and exciting live acts to come out of the U.K. for years. After winning the Best Electronic Act at the Diesel-U-Music Awards in 2004 Infadels have been championed by DJ’s such as Eddie Temple Morris and Steve Lamacq and most importantly the late John Peel. Infadels opened Glastonbury Festival 2005 on the newly named John Peel stage. Having since toured with Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Hard-Fi and The Prodigy, the band have toured since January 2006 headlining their own UK tour, before spanning the breadth of Europe to bring Electro to the masses and then back into Familiar Festival territory, before heading off once more on an Autumn UK tour.
Infadels debut album, “We are not the Infadels” produced by Jagz Kooner hitting the charts earlier this year, look out for new single “Girl Who Speaks No Words” in September, Infadels shift Indie Rock up into another gear with an unexpectedly richly textured and diverse collection of songs proving once and for all that they are the hardest working band in rock.
A 100% certain guarantee to take the roof off any given party!

‘The kind of band that'll change lives - the energy of the Prodigy with the production savvy of the Chemical Brothers, this is Wall of Sound’s greatest signing, and that's saying something’ Eddie Temple Morris XFM

‘Discovering the Infadels is like trading a secret kiss, exciting and exhilarating they’re part of what British music has been in need for a long time – a sense of fun without the ridiculous slap in your face irony’ FLUX MAGAZINE

‘sexier than The Streets, funkier than Dizzee Rascal, as angular as The Rapture and a damn sight more relevant than Audio Bullys’
LOGO MAGAZINE

‘Energetic electro-rock fusion with a punk sensibility. Gets better with every listen and deserves to be a smash’

New Album: “Leave to Remain” Released October 2nd 2006

Press Release: Kathryn Williams is one of the UK's most acclaimed singer-songwriters. having been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize a few years ago, each of Kathryn’s albums have been received with ever more glowing accolades in the press. admired by the likes of Norah Jones and Dido, Kathryn continues to gather fans with each new release and concert. Rather than be compromised by the demands of major-labels, the independently minded Liverpudlian puts her records out on her own label, Caw Records. Her sixth album, "Leave To Remain", is released on October 2nd, and Kathryn is once again touring the country with her tightly knit group of musicians. Disarmingly modest and self-effacing in front of an audience, a Kathryn Williams concert is always an event to remember: a crystal clear voice with the sparse accompaniment of cello, piano, guitar and occasional percussion, creatively used.

Press Release:The band’s story is DIY in a punk rock sense. Raised and formed in the south coastal county of Dorset, Tim and his brother Rick have been writing songs together since they were – count ‘em - three years old. Later when Tim went to university in Bordeaux to study French and Rick journeyed to Cambridge, the two continued writing songs together, sending email files of music, lyrics and ideas to one another. They sent a demo tape to a local battle of the bands competition and were immediately selected for the regional final.

From this point, everything started going right; tipped as “serious challengers to the American Super league punk bands” (City Life) getAmped were voted No.2 in the BBC Radio One unsigned chart and this was followed by glowing reviews amongst the credible press world; “undeniably promising talent” (Big Cheese) “Very talented…I love this band and predict big things for them’” (Total Rock).

New Album: The Red Guitar. (Harmonium)
Press Release:
In 1999 Clive was given his first record deal by Celtic label, 'Old Bridge Music'. His first solo CD, Sixth Sense received an unusually high level of attention from radio shows, reviewers and journalists and has since been described as 'a milestone in the journey of the steel-string guitar'. In 2002 the BMG/RCA record label took an interest in Clive. He recorded solo for them on one album, which is still selling very well.

"His long awaited 2nd solo album, The Red Guitar was released on 25 Nov 2004 and contains eleven original pieces as well as works by Gilbert Biberian & Wayne Shorter."
Xavier Russell

New Album "The Red Guitar" "
Clive is an acoustic fingerpicker with a beautifully clean technique and the ability to draw you into his music with astonishing ease. Listen and be amazed. 5 Stars" Guitar Techniques Magazine May 2005

"Ace young guitarist Clive returns to recording at last after an all-too-long four years away from the studio. The Red Guitar is that comparative rarity - an instrumental album par excellence that can be appreciated by fellow-guitarists and us mere mortals alike! Guitar music doesn't often get right to one's emotions, but I find Clive's playing gets deep to mine. Suffice it to say, this is a superb CD." Netrhythms

Press Release: Ever fluid, The Damned swiveled into the new century with their trademark dark vocals, poppy melodies and scintillating guitar sounds intact. But, as always, they've managed to bring the best of the new into the mix--they are no dinosaurs of punk's heyday. Without missing a b eat, they've remained current, even innovative--always a little ahead of their time. As relevant now as in 1976, The Damned continue to bring new sounds to the stage and studio.

Since the release of their debut album, Damned, Damned, Damned in 1977, THE DAMNED have epitomized the genre of British punk rock with their catalogue of unique records and notorious live shows. They introduced America to UK punk for the first time with their ground breaking US tour in 1977, instantly earning them a firm spot in a short list of innovators.

Press Release: Hailing from the magical land of Bristol, The Naturals (Rob, Ky, Harry And Felix) are just another young band playing that awful, loud and un-friendly noise that is good... Formed in the summer of 2004, playing out of tune guitars and a drum kit from the time of Jesus, Harry, Rob and Ky (they hadn't met the greatness of Felix at that time) were writing very basic songs. After agreeing a bassist was a little bit needed, they found Felix… they got more and more recognition on the local Bristol scene and recorded their debut EP “Robot” and have recorded an album (when it will be released however is another matter entirely) What I'm getting at is this: The Naturals focus on playing music that they would enjoy hearing. They only hope that you enjoy hearing it too. 'They're amazing!'
