Biopsy

The Visitors were born in Bridgwater 1998 AD. With no family to speak of, the band was left orphaned amidst the evils of a small post-industrial town. Taking its first steps on the circuit of working men's bars, pubs and gin-and-neon nightclubs, the Visitors' staple diet was a motivating force of unemployment, alcoholism and dire poverty. On this heady mixture of social apathy and carbohydrate, the band quickly grew to adulthood, blossoming into a glorious form of ex-teacher, ex-journalist, ex-kitchen salesman and The Most Dangerous Man in Somerset. For a while it courted with love, with sex, with drink, with obsession, then, with the release of its first CD; Flying to the Ocean Floor, the band acquired a more poetic experimental edge. This coincided with an expansion in performance venues as far and remote as Prague and Dartmoor Jail, now fully contrite and out on bail, The Visitors then recorded their second CD; Moving Darkly. Now, with a rawer edge and one of their tracks Down to the Sea released by 25 Records the Visitors began their latest project; Post Industrial Dark. it's is out now on Midnight Mango!!!

Post Industrial Dark

This CD is now available. Some of the tracks are already available on our myspace.com web site. The lyrics and the artwork can be viewed from this website by clicking on the CD image to the left.
This CD is a bit of a departure for us. We used an electric guitarist; Craig, on two of the tracks, which we recorded last year. This makes them sound more hardcore. The rest were recorded this Summer they benefit from a much greater variety of guitars and there's even a banjo on one track!
With the CD comes an 8 page booklet and a lyric sheet. This Post Industrial Dark link will take you to a page that is dedicated to the CD, where you'll find poetry and art work from the album. It costs £5.00.

Moving Darkly

This CD represents a year's worth of writing and playing, we spent a lot more money in the recording studio and as a result we reckon that we have honed these songs into a cohesive, tight album. There are 12 songs which run to about 55 minutes plus a hidden track which is a reworking of "The Air from the Lung" All in all well over an hour of provocative sounds.
With the CD comes a 12 page booklet which includes all the lyrics plus an eclectic selection of Ellie's pictures inspired by the songs. This Moving Darkly link will take you to a page that is dedicated to the CD, where you'll find poetry and art work from the album. It costs £5.00.

Flying to the Ocean Floor

Flying to the Ocean Floor was the first CD that the Visitors attempted. We didn't have much cash when we went into the studio so we recorded all fifteen tracks in double quick time. Still we managed to add the effects of ebb "&" flow and come up with an inspirational, if not technically perfect set of songs. The outcome was an album which earned us the Morning Star review "This band should play Glastonbury Festival" well we're still working on that one...

Again this CD comes with evocative art work from Ellie. This Flying to the Ocean Floor link will take you to a page that is dedicated to the CD, where you'll find poetry and art work from the album. It costs £5.00.
