DT - What are your names and what do you play in the band?

Cormac - I'm Cormac Neeson and I'm the singer in The Answer
Paul - I'm Paul Mahon, guitar and vocals
Mickey - Mickey Waters, guitar and vocals
James - James Heatley, drums

DT - How many gigs are you playing on your current tour and where are you heading to?

Cormac - We're playing 16 dates, I'll give you a brief run through. We started in York, Bristol a couple of days ago, Bridgwater tonight, working our way to Liverpool, then London direction, and then we're up in Glasgow and finishing then finishing in Manchester. Cardiff as well, gotta get the Welsh in there
(Laughs)

DT - You guys being from Ireland, I wondered what the music scene was like as a whole over there?

Cormac - It's pretty good, pretty healthy. Kinda caters for all tastes over there, there's a lot of good rock n roll bands, there's a lot of good punk, metal, there's a couple of good almost country rock folk type bands coming out.

DT - You're on the same record label as AC/DC, how did that chance come about?

Cormac - Um, they approached us about like..
Mickey - About a year ago?
Cormac - Yeah about a year we've been signed to them now, and I suppose maybe six months previous between ourselves and our manager we launched a little campaign to get noticed over in the main land. We started playing a lot of showcase gigs in London, and did a couple of high profile support tours with bands like Alter Bridge, and we played with The Darkness a couple of times. Then New Year of 2005 we got a few offers put on the table, and Albert's one was the best one to go for at the time.

DT - How did you find touring with The Darkness?

Cormac - Well we played their Brixton Academy gig, and they just came across as pretty decent blokes you know. Pretty out there like, suppose there was a couple of things to be learnt about stage show from the boys!
(Laughs)
Cormac - They were just an enjoyable few gigs you know, kind of gave us a taste for the bigger side of things.

DT - How did the audience take to you in those gigs?

Cormac - Oh it was great
Mickey - Yeah really good
Cormac - It was a good rock n roll crowd out there in the UK, and we seemed to strike a chord with them, and since then we've had a lot of people coming back to our own gigs and other support tours we've been doing. And from then we've started building up a decent fan base and making a lot of good friends along the way.

DT - Do you have a release date for your album yet?

Cormac - Summertime all being well. We've got a single called 'Into the Gutter' coming out on 22nd May, and then we'll let that settle down for a couple of months then hit them with an album. It's all ready to go, all recorded, artwork, just waiting for the right moment to release it.

DT - Your first E.P. came out in 2004, how well did that do?

Cormac - It did well yeah, it was our first opportunity to get some recorded music to the people out there, and sold well. You know, we're still flogging a few copies on tour. And then that was followed by our debut single, which was 'Never Too Late' and that kinda tripled well quadrupled sales of the E.P.

DT - Do you get excited hearing the positive reviews and things in Kerrang! for example?

Cormac - Yeh we've had a lot of positive responses from magazines such as Classic Rock and Kerrang! and I mean it all helps you know. Reading the magazines will help shape gigs musical landscapes you know, so the more positive press the better Yourself included
(Laughs)

DT - I'll only put in the good things
(Laughs)

Cormac - If you've got something bad to say don't bother saying it!
(Laughs)

DT - That's about it thanks guys, is there anything else you'd like to add?

Cormac - Just get ready for 22nd May, 'Into The Gutter' coming into a store near you.
Mickey - Or it'l be available on iTunes or something for download
Cormac - You can come and see us at a load of festivals over the summer as well

DT - Thanks very much guys
Cormac - No problem
