Sink and Stove Records sprang into life in March 2000 with their packed launch party in Bristol and popular website resource. Their debut release, the eponymous "fall project double CD was released on May 22nd 2000 to critical acclaim. A no-nonsense approach to music and the music industry has led to praise in the press and rapid word of mouth. Both the "Fall Project and "The Hospital Radio Request List were picked up by Xfm and Radio One as well as numerous regional stations and are receiving extensive airplay. John Peel was recently spotted on Carlton Television sporting a Sink and Stove t-shirt and the label is due to feature in a special piece on BBC Online. Sink and Stove Records are poised to set-up a new recording studio and base in the South-West of England. The Sink "&" Stove RecordsWith an eclectic range of bands and acts Sink and Stove Records present a diverse range of high quality new music, ranging from cutting-edge post rock through to classical inspired underground dance.

Their ethic is a no-nonsense approach to music and the music business, with collaboration and co-operation being key factors.

Among the exciting new acts featuring on the label are John Parish, the legendary musician and producer, who features on Sink and Stove Records - Volume 2 (S"&"SR#2). John is currently working on solo material and forming a live band, after working with Sparklehorse.

Christmas is the new project from Spleen and P J Harvey collaborators Rob Ellis and Tim Farthing. Kiska are a Bristol four-piece and Soeza are another locally based seven piece.

Other label mates include Terry Edwards and the Scapegoats, Big Joan and Possessed - the brainchild of The Auteurs, Baader Meinhoff and Black Box Recorder cellist, programmer, thereminist and keyboard wizz James Banbury.

Knife and Fork are Sink and Stove's latest band on the books, a new project from Eric Drew Feldman (Captain Beefheart, Pixies, Frank Black, Pere Ubu). Vocals are provided by Laurie Lynn Hall and various guest musicians contribute including guitarist Joe Gore. They have an exclusive track on SASR#2

The latest release from Sink and Stove Records is out now. "The Hospital Radio Request List is a 17-track compilation CD featuring new and exclusive tracks from all of the label,s affiliated bands to date. The album brings together such acts as Possessed (The Auteurs, Black Box Recorder, Baader Meinhoff), Christmas (P J Harvey, Spleen, Laika), White Hotel (Calexico, Barry Adamson, Pale Saints), Terry Edwards "&" The Scapegoats (Gallon Drunk, The Tindersticks, Scott 4), John Parish (P J Harvey, Sparklehorse, Giant Sand) Knife "&" Fork (Captain Beefheart, Pixies, Frank Black) and many more

The album comes complete with a 24-page colour booklet and a limited edition art card. Many of the bands will be playing live events in support of the album. Highlights include Terry Edwards "&" The Scapegoats, Possessed and Big Joan playing a unique Sink and Stove charity concert onboard HMS President in London on 29th October, and the new John Parish band performing a special gig at the Royal Festival Hall in London on December 10th supporting The The.
