“One song that’s really come alive recently is What Could Possibly Go Wrong?, which will feature on a forthcoming live album recorded during the recent Sanctuary tour.
Each verse explores a different moment where human confidence collided with unintended consequences — from the Titanic and Stalingrad to Iraq, Covid, artificial intelligence and, more recently, Epstein Island. The recurring line “What could possibly go wrong?” becomes darker as the song unfolds.
Audiences seem to respond to the mixture of humour, recognition and unease within it. The song changes slightly from night to night, which gives it a real sense of spontaneity and makes it feel especially alive on stage right now.”
