Emilie had built up her own agency for 6 years before joining the MM team as a move forward in her booking agency career!

Emilie, what brought you to Midnight Mango?
After ten years working as a Personal Assistant in various sectors in Luxembourg (including real estate and audit), I jumped on something completely new and launched my own French music booking agency in 2018. I am a self-taught booking agent and spent five years working independently, navigating both the growth and the challenges — including the difficult period during Covid. The agency was doing ok. I became quickly the Tour Manager of both my husband’s bands (his solo and duo)
At WOMEX 2024, I met Rich Potter and Matt. My husband, who is a musician, was interested in being represented by Rich, as his music strongly resonated with the roster. During our conversations, Rich mentioned they were looking for booking agents. After three days of connecting and talking a little each day, I realised it was the right moment for me to take the next step: to join a more established booking agency, one with experience, structure, and a strong, collaborative team.
What kind of bands do you like to work with?

My taste in music has always been wide and eclectic — from rock, folk to Latin, African influences. Looking at my previous roster, I realised how many instrumental bands I was representing, not only but predominantly. In the past year or two, I’ve naturally gravitated towards healing, experimental and organic music. These sounds feel more aligned with the person I am becoming, and I’m excited to support artists who create music that opens space, connection, and transformation.
What advice would you give someone considering joining the Midnight Mango team?

Go to shows to connect, listen to music !
Join us! That’s one of the best decisions I have made this year.
In the six months since I joined Midnight Mango, I’ve learnt so much — and it genuinely feels like just the beginning. It’s incredibly reassuring to have real support and advice from others, and to share experiences with colleagues. Even from a distance, you feel part of a strong, connected team. I can already see a big difference in my work, in my experience, and in the opportunities that are opening up. It’s also very rewarding to contribute to our collective growth. It truly feels like the right place to grow.
Be aware of the challenge it can be !
If a person is not used to work from home it can be challenging depending on the personality.
It offers freedom, but it also demands a lot of discipline. Without clear boundaries, it’s easy to slip into a cycle where personal and professional life blur together. Learning to disconnect is essential for maintaining balance and protecting your mental health.
Be organised and try to find strategies to be more efficient is a key to feel less overwhelmed.
