Pink first worked as a promoter in Germany before joining Midnight Mango.

What brought you to Midnight Mango?
First of all: curiosity. I received the opportunity to get in touch with Midnight Mango from another agent, who started a few months before at MM, it was the pandemic time, with less shows & work and I was open minded to go on a new path.
I started in 1992 as a local promoter in a small DIY punk & alternative-rock venue in Marburg / Germany (first show there was for: Motorpsycho on their first trip through Germany) and I changed sides of music business in 2006 to become an agent at Patchanka Booking Agency (self founded with one partner).
To join a bigger company and UK based company (I’m based in Berlin / Germany) was an very interesting opportunity and I decided at this point: lets go.
What kind of bands do you like to work with?
There is no specific rule, but mainstream and radio music is not my cup of tea. For a long time I have had a main topic on French music (with French lyrics), because I was impressed by their live performance on stage. I love this mix of genres like Mano Negra did in the past and so it was no big surprise to work with artists like Les Cameleons, Les Maximum Kouettes, Les Fils de Teuhpu, Les Grosses Papilles and many many more artists in-between Punk, Ska and World music. Later on I had the chance to organize the first tour in Germany with the French HipHop artist Chinese Man, working 2 great years with the Israeli alternative folk artist The Angelcy and now with Komfortrauschen I have an live techno artist in my roster.
I prefer to have leftwing artist with a clear political statement in my roster.

What advice would you give someone considering joining the Midnight Mango team?
Be prepared to work with a big team without seeing them each day in the office. You will work with a booking software, a huge address book and a lot of people around you, who are always very open minded to help you if needed. The fact to be part of this team will open doors for you (mainly on the UK market). MM has a great reputation.
