Cable Street Collective are a London band blending African-influenced guitars and rhythms with soulful female vocals, horn hooks, socially conscious lyrics and sharp pop sensibilities.
Since emerging with their debut EP The Best of Times in 2014, they have built a reputation as a standout live act, playing festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Isle of Wight Festival and Lake of Stars in Malawi.
Their EP Where Now From Here? and debut album Battle Lines earned strong support from BBC 6 Music and praise from the likes of Tom Robinson, John Kennedy and Clash Magazine.
They are currently working on their second full-length album, and several singles have dropped in the run up to the album release in July 2026. World Enough and Time was chosen by John Kennedy for a spin on Radio X in April, ‘It’s just so good, you’ve got to hear it. Time to get on the dancefloor with a little help from Cable Street Collective!’
The band take their name from the Battle of Cable Street, the 1936 anti-fascist mobilisation in East London.
