FROM THE JAM was formed in 2004 when Russell Hastings joined forces with two members of the original Jam line-up, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler. What began as a celebration of one of Britain’s most influential bands quickly grew into an international touring success, attracting both lifelong Jam fans and new generations discovering the music for the first time.
Rather than attempting to imitate The Jam, the band’s reputation has been built on authenticity, passion, and a remarkable ability to recreate the energy and spirit of the original recordings and live performances.
“I just go up and sing the songs how I remember them being sung. I’m many thousands of shows in now and had the good fortune of performing alongside Bruce and Rick for many years. We became great friends, and I suppose some of those musical idiosyncrasies rubbed off. Whatever the reason, it works, and people love singing these songs that mean so much to them.”

In 2010, Rick Buckler left to pursue other projects, with Bruce Foxton and Russell Hastings continuing alongside renowned drummer Mark Brzezicki of Big Country. Around this time, the first Foxton & Hastings album, Back In The Room, was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios and featured Weller on several tracks, including the acclaimed single Number Six.
The band’s success continued to grow internationally, with extensive tours across the UK, Europe, Japan, Australia, and the United States. In 2015, Foxton & Hastings released their second album, Smash The Clock, receiving widespread critical acclaim and featuring guest appearances from Steve Cropper, Wilko Johnson, Paul Weller and Paul Jones.
Over the years, FROM THE JAM has become one of the UK’s most successful touring acts celebrating the music of The Jam, performing at major festivals and prestigious venues including the Brighton Centre, Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom, Rock City Nottingham and many of the country’s leading theatres and concert halls.
Following health issues, Bruce Foxton retired from touring after his final performance with the band in August 2025. Today, Russell Hastings continues to lead FROM THE JAM alongside Mike Randon (drums), Gary Simmons (bass), and Andy Fairclough (keyboards), keeping alive the legacy of The Jam while also performing material from the band’s acclaimed chart-topping studio albums.
