Ghenwa Nemnom is a pioneering Lebanese electronic artist and qanun player, bringing the ancient Middle Eastern instrument into a bold, contemporary sound. Her music bridges tradition and electronic culture, creating immersive journeys where cinematic emotion, melodic depth and the dancefloor meet.

Trained at the Lebanese National Conservatory from the age of eight and later immersed in global arts and culture in the United States, Ghenwa carries a deep foundation in tradition while pursuing a distinctly futuristic vision. At the centre of her musical identity is the qanun – not as an addition to her performance, but as its defining voice.

Combining DJ-led electronic sets, original productions and live qanun, Ghenwa creates a dialogue between past and future. Her sound moves through organic, Latin and melodic house influences, weaving the soul and intricate textures of the qanun into contemporary electronic soundscapes.

Her singular approach has taken her to internationally recognised cultural institutions, destination venues and major events, including Scorpios Mykonos and Bodrum, Beachouse Ibiza, Surf Club Dubai, the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, Dubai’s Museum of the Future, Baalbeck International Festival, Formula 1 Saudi Arabia and FIFA events in Doha. She has opened for artists including Bedouin and Birds of Mind, while performing for global luxury houses such as Dior, Prada, Cartier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and Miu Miu.

As a recording artist, Ghenwa has released music through international labels including Scorpios Music, Sol Selectas, Alt Orient, Café de Anatolia, Melody of the Soul and Astarte, while also establishing Astarte as a platform for boundary-pushing fusion. Her catalogue includes “Echoes of the Temple,” which has surpassed 15 million views, and “Beyond Strings,” with more than one million streams.

With the qanun as her musical language, Ghenwa Nemnom continues to redefine the instrument’s place on the world stage, building an electronic live identity that is emotional, refined, culturally rooted and unmistakably her own.

A master of the Qanun, Ghenwa’s rich sound fuses traditional instrumentation with a plethora of contemporary rhythms.
