Josh Pyke is one of Australia’s most respected and enduring singer-songwriters, with a career spanning more than two decades. Renowned for his evocative storytelling, rich melodies and unmistakable voice, he has become a defining figure in Australian music, earning multiple ARIA Awards and a devoted, multi-generational fanbase.

Since releasing his debut album Memories & Dust in 2006, Pyke has released eight acclaimed studio albums, alongside extensive national and international touring. His songwriting has produced beloved Australian classics including Middle of the Hill, The Summer and Make You Happy, while his work has expanded beyond the stage into film and television composition, children’s literature and industry leadership.

In 2026, Pyke released his eighth studio album, Kingdom Within, his first independent release in more than 20 years. Featuring the title track Kingdom Within and the acclaimed duet Won’t Be Heavy featuring Missy Higgins, the album explores themes of family, creativity, grief, hope and finding peace in an increasingly complex world. Produced by long-time collaborator Chris Collins, it showcases Pyke’s most confident and emotionally resonant songwriting to date, reaffirming his place as one of Australia’s premier lyricists.

Beyond his creative work, Pyke is a passionate advocate for Australian music. He serves as Chair of PPCA, has championed emerging artists through initiatives including the Josh Pyke Partnership with APRA AMCOS, and co-created Busking for Change with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Whether through music, writing or mentorship, Josh Pyke continues to inspire audiences with work that is thoughtful, timeless and deeply human, cementing his legacy as one of Australia’s most influential contemporary artists.
