Pattern Pusher

Pattern Pusher

Sunshine-soaked, dream-funk, disco-infused, synth-soul sounding Pattern Pusher have been championed by BBC Radio 2, Radio 6 and BBC Introducing and have just been named as one of BBC Introducing’s “Ones to watch” for 2022.

The retro-pop trio have been praised for one of the most energetic, happy and feel-good live shows on the scene and were cited as one of NME’s hidden gems due to their barnstorming performances at Boardmasters festival last Summer. The energetic three-piece are on a mission to uplift and inspire with their feel-good music.

Fronted by Alex Johnstone on the keys, whose soaring soulful vocals are evocative of Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles, Benny G gives his wild energy to the bass and Benny C’s grooving drum rhythms underpin an unconventional line up with a classic sound.

Just before lock down they won the Glastonbury Pilton party judged by Michael Eavis and supported Wolf Alice and Supergrass. Last Summer Pattern Pusher played the main stages at Beautiful Days, Altitude, Rock Oyster and The Great Estate festivals as well as the BBC Intro stage at Boardmasters. In October 2021 they embarked on their first headline tour, selling out venues including those in London, Exeter. Bristol and Cornwall.

Pattern Pusher released their debut EP late 2021 after a run of single releases that were featured on BBC Radio 2. The most recent single “Another Girl” was BBC Introducing upload of the week when Sarah Gosling likened them to Jamiroquai, Hot Chip and Bombay Bicycle Club.

They have had recent syncs on Sky’s Comedy Central and E4’s ‘Young Sheldon’ trailer and will feature on British Airway’s in-flight playlist. Their music also features on the official Formula 1 and Liverpool FC Spotify playlists.

Pattern Pusher’s next single will be released in April and will be plugged by Joe Mallot of Mallot Media.
